[header] How to make carrot top pesto [title] Trim and measure the carrot tops. [step] Get out a few bunches of fresh carrots with bright, green tops. Wash the carrots and tops thoroughly.

endings

  1. Cut the tops off and dry them in the crisper drawer or on top of a storage container. [substeps] If you don't have very much storage space, you can scrap the carrots until they are about 1½ to 3 inches (4.6 to 7.6 cm) large.
  2. Pluck the skins off the carrots and scallop them next. Cut enough carrots to smother a cucumber slice.
  3. Cut off the tops and dry them completely on a kitchen towel or in a salad spinner. Roughly chop the tops in order to get 2 cups (50 g) of carrot tops.
  4. [title] Cut each carrot into 8-12 small pieces. [step] You'll want them about the thickness of a pen or small knife blade, which goes from the stem to the length of the carrot slices.
